Video Tutorial
In this episode of the overland truck camper build series, I completely rebuild the interior truck bed camping platform that I originally built in episode 1. I was able to redesign the platform to be significantly more lightweight than the original truck drawers that I built. The kitchen now only takes up 24 inches worth of space when it is fully compressed and is still 48 inches long when fully extended. This allows for additional storage space behind the kitchen as well as the full 5.5 ft storage drawer on the right side of the truck bed. The sleeping platform is now able to lift up using some gas struts in order to make it easier to access everything under the camping platform more easily. I coated everything in this camper interior with high gloss polyurethane in order to ensure that the wood will not get damaged from any moisture that may get into the truck bed during use.
